JIB INSPIRATION - Inheritance

JIB INSPIRATION - Inheritance
Hey fam!

Hope you are having a great week?

For those who don't know, I am from Edo state, Esan - West to be precise. In my culture, when a man
dies, his oldest son must perform some traditional rites as part of the burial program. Irrespective of how old or young the son is, these rites must be performed, otherwise, the son can not claim his inheritance.

I don't know how the village elders keep track of those who default but they sure do. If a man has not performed these rites, it prevents him from more than just claiming his inheritance but we shall stick with the inheritance for the purpose of this post.

The good thing, though, is that the son doesn't lose his inheritance; NOPE! He just can not claim or receive what truly belongs to him. Even if the man also dies without performing these rites, his oldest son sort of inherits the debt of performing the traditional rites before he can also lay claim to anything that belongs to his father or father's father as the case may be.

This is the same thing that happens when we come to Christ.

Irrespective of those who gave their lives to Christ 50 years ago and those who gave  a year ago, our Lord Jesus Christ already paid the price for all of us.
This salvation is our inheritance which has been claimed for us by Christ and the only way to get this inheritance is to accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

Like the man who has not done his father's traditional funeral rites, even though he owns the properties, he can't not lay claim to them.

That's how it is when we hold out on our salvation, we would be living as though we have no inheritance when our God has made available all things for us.

Is it not better to begin enjoying the benefits of this life of light and grace early?

Is it not more profitable to lay claim on what rightly belongs to us by the great sacrifice that Jesus Christ has made on the cross for our sakes?

This post is just to bring to our attention that time is of the essence in this walk with God. It is true that heaven is the ultimate goal but life on earth reflecting God's glory and amazing grace is also a wonderful experience.

So come to Jesus Christ today so that the inheritance He already paid the price for would be thoroughly enjoyed by us all.

God bless you.
